Borussia Dortmund has sensationally reached the final of the UEFA Champions League after defeating Manchester City 1-0 on Wednesday night. After a 1-0 victory in the first leg in Germany, BVB held on to their slim advantage at the Etihad Stadium, becoming the first German team to reach the Champions League final since Bayern Munich in 2020.

Emre Can scored the only goal of the match in the 55th minute, capitalizing on a mistake from Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson to tap in from close range. The goal sent the BVB faithful into raptures and silenced the home crowd in Manchester.

Borussia Dortmund's victory was all the more remarkable given that they were without their talisman Erling Haaland, who missed the match through injury. In his absence, Dortmund relied on a strong defensive performance and some inspired attacking play from Julian Brandt and Giovanni Reyna.
